Wild wonders!
Well, Miss Paige is definitely the explorer of the group. Leave it to the girl to be the WILD ONE! Her twin (Ringo) is the cuddle bug. He is the one that often naps on Mama. Mazey girl loves our dogs! She loves to rub against our shepherds and meows to spend time with them. She allows our female (Carin) to spend time with her babies. Carin has been around kittens many many times and enjoys them. She is not a fan of pups but has always been nothing but gentle towards kittens.

Who me?
This is the classic pose Windsor offers when he does not want to do something and he just wants to look cute. He wags his tail and gives us this adorable "who me" look. Look at that face. What a gorgeous lovable boy. I just love this boy more and more each day and am so grateful to have him in our life. Today Windsor did fantastic with a visitor. He checks in with us and handles himself well. He is learning that there is no need to be concerned and reactive to new people. I am VERY impressed with his continued progress. We are so lucky to have this wonderful dog in our lives!

In honor of Jack
Jack Shryock Nov 95-May 12-08
Photo of Moose and Jack years ago. I hope they are napping away together and getting good muzzle rubs at the bridge together now!
It is with great sadness that I share that we lost our 12 yr old family member Jack this past Monday.

It is with great sadness that I share that we lost our 12 yr old family member Jack this past Monday.
Jack was my first connection and introduction to the cat world and taught me the amazing gifts cats bring. I can not even begin to share all that we loved about him but suffice to say that he is sorely missed and will forever be our special tuxedo classy guy. Jack found me on a cold snowy night when I was coming home from a train in Philly. I was 6 month pregnant with my first son (now12) He welcomed all foster dogs and taught many lessons!
Jack and Bailey last week enjoying our screened porch in the sun.
He taught many foster pups feline respect! He loved his doggie buddies and they loved and respected him too. Jack is still with us and his lessons will never leave our lives and his spirit will never leave our hearts. We love you Jacksonian! You classy guy!
In honor of Jack we are supporting a Mama and her six kittens. Mazey and her 6 babies are fantastic and have provided us with much joy and comfort during a time when we sure needed it. They have alos just been there to listen :) This has been so helpful for myself and especially the kids. I think when you see the pictures you will understand how easily one can melt when you look into their cute faces!

Meet Duke!
Handsome and filled with love this boy is a wonderful dog who is READY for a forever home. This boy has been in our home for over a year now and we believe strongly that their is a family that is right for him. Duke has bilateral hip displasia which limits his physical activity. He would do best in a home with few steps to accomodate his physical needs as he ages. Duke is 6 years old and weights 90lbs.
Duke also experiences separation anxiety especially when confined in any small or closed area. He likes his people to be close but does behave himself in the home while his family is away if he is not confined. Duke knows many commands and is very eager to please. He gets along with cats and other dogs but prefers calm less active dogs. This boy is about as loving as they come and talks, talks, talks, talks, talks! I have never known a more vocal German Sherpherd in my life. :) If you think Duke might be a good fit for you and your family please visit www.southernsiberian.com or email jen@familypaws.com to find out more about this special boy!

New beginnings for Windsor
Yesterday our boy had his first injection for Heartworm treatment. It saddens me when dogs need to go through this difficult process that is so preventable. Windsor has a high positive of Heartworm and will need to be kept very calm. Prior to treatment he had symptoms of being lethargic and frequent coughing. Please keep this special boy in your prayers for a speedy recovery! On a positive note Windsor has continued to progress in his manners and we are very proud of him. We will keep you update! If you are unfamiliar with heartworms and the deadly complications they cause that are PREVENTABLE! Pleave visit http://www.heartwormsociety.org/article.asp?id=11 to learn how to protect your furry family member!
