Amazing. And I bet there aren't follow-up stories to correct the inaccuracies.
I vaguely recall a story many, many years ago in Raleigh where an elderly lady was attacked by her son's "pit bull" in her front yard while she was sweeping her porch. As it turned out, she had been hitting the dog with the broom.
Thanks for helping bring the madness to light.
